Tales and Trails with storyteller and environmentalist Tony Power runs on Tuesday’s and Thursday’s. Group bookings will be considered on alternate days. Please see contact below to confirm availability.
A walking/talking folklore experience with local storyteller Tony Power that will have you looking over your shoulder long after you have left our shores. With many Newfoundlanders having roots in Ireland, the fascination with fairies and ghost stories might be in our genes. Or maybe these tales are more than just stories … Whatever the case, there are folks that swear that what they saw on a misty eve was as real as the nose on their face.
We are known for our fog in these parts but it will only elevate this mystical experience as Tony will share with you stories of the many shipwrecks that have happened just off our shores.
This early evening two hour(ish) tour takes you on an easy hike at various local focal points around the community. You can expect more than just tall tales from our gifted storyteller. By day he manages the Mistaken Point Ecological reserve and will be pointing out local flora, fauna, and how the locals used them back in the day. You will find him to be a jovial, warm, and captivating guide who is also full of hospitality– just what Newfoundlanders are known for.
